The attempt to give orderly structure and bring
perceptions that appear disordered back to a familiar
form is part of the search for meaning inherent in
human beings. If the brain encounters something it
does not recognize it works through a series of
associative processes to find meaning in it. When the
form of observation is abstract and random, the first
interesting short circuits emerge: the mind attempts
to impose a meaningful interpretation even in the
face of ambiguities, causing the subject to alter his
perception to the point of creating an imaginary
universe. This phenomenon is called pareidolytic
illusion. ARRIVEDERCI E GRAZIE is divided into
two publishing projects, Thermal Traces and
Thermal Figures, and is inspired by the work of M.
Duchamp in the early 1900s. Exploiting the
physicochemical peculiarities of thermal printing, it
explores its creative potential. The medium is
transformed with anomalous burning processes by
using different heat sources that generate unexpected
forms, opening up to multiple imaginaries. From a
functional and consumerist object, the receipt
fragments into unique figures and signs, detaching
itself from its original nature.
