Books and others prize is a competition, exhibition and workshop dedicated to book art and visual culture and represents the opportunity for a publishing house to exhibit one or more of its titles in a context different from the ordinary.
Twenty titles, each belonging to different publishing houses, were selected in this catalog to create a heterogeneous narrative with a lively visual rhythm.
The sources from which the contents of the catalog come are mostly digital, hence the thought about the concept of the catalog: structuring a narrative linked to the iconography of multimedia world. The goal is to investigate the contrast between the book object, in its
analog dimension, and the digital modes of representation in order to discover a connection between the two worlds, often experienced separately, and belonging to distant generations.
The catalog is thus based on a visual that shows images treated with digitally derived tools and effects, such as zooming and glitching. This is accompanied by an exhibition whose advertisement is made by affixing huge photographs of the selected books.
