Century Bug is a typeface born in a dystopian reality, where a temporal bug has merged the 1400s with the 2000s.
The font combines the first Gothic typeface of Gutenberg's movable type with the pixelated aesthetics of the late 20th century and the beginning of the new millennium, representing the union of these two eras through typography.
The typeface is inspired by the Textura design used in the Gutenberg Bible, along with some elements of later Gothic typefaces. The idea of creating a pixelated Gothic typeface originated from the cover of Emigre #14, featuring Zuzana Licko's typeface. The design of the font has been revisited by removing some elements to improve its readability and to perfectly adapt to the pixel
grid.
Century Bug is a display typeface, perfect for headlines and graphic projects in cyberpunk or Y2K style, but also for hybrid use with other fonts.
