The project consists of the redesign of a historical military volume from 1937. The book was desi- gned during the Typografie und Grafik course in collaboration with the Teßmann Library of Bolzano.
The original book is a monograph published by Alpine general Aldo Cabiati and tells of a forgotten war in the Dolomites, but fundamental for understanding the geopolitical fate of South Tyrol after the First World War.
As I deepened my knowledge of this story, I was fascinated by it, so I tried to develop a graphic project that could convey its charm and at the same time pose a new perspective on a narrative and visual level. Visual hierarchies, legibility criteria and the human brain's ways of translating images were central elements of the research I conducted to develop a contemporary and experimental visual language.
The synthesis of images through vector points represents a central element of the project; the dot as a graphic sign has always played a leading role also with regards to the typographical choice and the games of overlap between text and raster.
