Enea is a slab serif font designed and drawn starting from Skeleton Antique No. 2, found in a specimen of the type foundry Stephenson, Blake & Co. from 1904. The design of this font is, at first glance, geometric and rational; however, upon closer inspection, it presents peculiar details, inaccuracies, and extravagances that contribute to its charm.
The primary intent of this revival has been, therefore, to maintain the original identity of the font, while giving the design my own interpretation. I specifically chose to maintain this duality between rationality and extravagance, between clean design and stylistic quirks, even though I went on to act and "file" where, in my opinion, the design required it.
