Extraterra is a project developed in collaboration between lUAV, Teraformæ, and the Sant'Anselmo kiln, aimed at exploring the innovative potential of terracotta. Each project represents an in-depth investigation into this material, with the goal of pushing the traditional boundaries of its use. Students experimented with new combinations of materials, advanced technologies, and innovative production methods, expanding design thinking beyond the conventional limits of terracotta. The result is a research journey that merges creativity with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques. The project culminates in a book that gathers all the
products designed by the students, along with insights and technical details about the production processes of terracotta.
The book offers a comprehensive look at the material's characteristics and the unique approach of the partner company, providing a tangible testament to the future possibilities of this ancient material.
