The volume represents a work of archiving and in-depth study aimed at understanding a historical period in which communication media such as newspapers and editorial magazines were fundamental in promoting information independent of economic, editorial, distribution, and social constraints, thus ensuring direct and free communication for all social classes.
The introduction is developed through six fundamental texts for understanding this period, presented in the five introductory chapters:

The visual material in the volume, including illustrations and images, was scanned and digitized at the «Mauro Rostagno» Documentation Center, located in the archives of the "Fondazione
Museo Storico del Trentino".
