The "Myconism" project was conceived at the Iuav University of Venice, within the Master's degree program in Communication Design.
The theme was the creation of a new religion and its corresponding brand identity. Myconism is a religion that sees fungi as sacred entities from which everything originates.
Fungi represent the manifestation of the deity Mycon, a fungal spore that creates life, with its mycelium extending from the center of the Earth. Mycon separates its divine essence into body, the mycelium that supports the planet, and consciousness, which is preserved in a parallel dimension accessible only to prophets. The religion proposes a deanthropocentric view of the world, based on the harmonious union of the three natural kingdoms. The project is inspired by the biology of fungi and their mythology across various cultures, exploring a variety of graphic, digital, and analog techniques: from the use of expressive typography integrated with illustrations and photography, to the use of real spore prints derived from the fungi's imprint.
