Italia e Cuba in dialogo – Il manifesto cinematografico tra gli anni Sessanta e Ottanta

“Italy and Cuba in dialogue. Film posters between the 1960s and 1980s” is a comparative and hypertextual book that explores Cuban and Italian film posters from the 1960s to the 1980s. Through the dialogue between two very different visual traditions, it reflects on the poster as an artistic, cultural, and political expression, proposing a non-linear reading based on connections, differences, and thematic references.

The volume is organised into three thematic sections, each composed of three chapters. All left-hand pages are dedicated to Cuba, while the right-hand pages focus on Italy. This mirrored layout allows for an immediate, practical, and continuous comparison between the two contexts.

The project was conceived with the aim of highlighting the cross-cutting connections within twentieth-century visual culture and proposing a new model of comparative and immersive reading of the book as a space for research, making the experience more engaging and stimulating for the reader.
