I rituali del calcio is a sociological essay aimed at making visible the social, cultural, political and relational macro-processes that influence and are influenced by the game of football. The foundation for the development of the project lies in the concept of epoché: a technique of philosophical enquiry that consists in taking a logical distance from the subject being examined.This technique is applied to sociological research in order to observe the 'oddities' of an everyday phenomenon that would otherwise remain covered by the layer of ordinariness that surrounds events taken for granted. Therefore, the formal solution of an atlas of the human cardiovascular system was exploited, within which the terms linked to the sportive ritual - everything that grants the individuals populating the stadium the expression of their emotionality - is represented by the red colour of the arteries, and those linked to the military metaphor - the symbolism that makes the virtuous functioning of the ritual possible by representing it in the staging of a war - is represented by the blue colour of the veins.
